It's so nice to make your acquaintance! If you've been an EA or any type of administrative professional for longer than a day, you will already understand just how valuable, even vital, a great network is. I'm excited to have you in my network and I'm honoured to now be a part of yours! Hit me up on LinkedIn to make it official!

I'm a grateful wearer of many hats and I identify with a lot of common, traditional labels such as woman, mother, step-mother, wife, daughter, friend, colleague, neighbour, volunteer, etc. I am a leader, a business owner (Empowered EA Consulting and Dare to Imagine Coaching Inc.) a professionally trained Co-Active coach, a former rock star senior executive assistant, an empath, a feminist, a teacher, a speaker and a perpetual rooter for the underdog. I love guacamole, margaritas and I relish any time I can stick my toes in the sand. I live for deep, meaningful conversations with others.

My purpose for creating Empowered EA is to empower smart, capable EAs to define what success is, and to step into their leadership potential as true strategic partners in business.

I want to:
- spark engaging conversation;
- disrupt the traditional view of a "support role" and replace it with a new language of leadership;
- share insights and ideas of how the "je ne sais quoi" of an amazing EA actually CAN be described, nurtured, and developed.
- create a community where we can learn from and support one other.

Unfortunately, you're not going to learn tips and tricks to maximize your email filing system. And you're not going to get my secret travel booking tips (aka hang up and call back to talk to someone else!). What you are going to find is humour, compassion, challenges, empathy, growth strategies, and maybe even some tips to help save your sanity. This expertise is all garnered from the bank of my life experience, 25 years of serving/supporting others (the good, the bad and the ugly), from my conversations with many EAs like yourself, and valuable coaching strategies proven to evoke transformational change. Expect to explore boundaries, communication, fierce conversations, confidence, impact, community, and leadership strategies for those in support roles.

I'm writing this for me and for all those that have felt like me. For those who's efforts are often invisible and underappreciated. For those who's significant leadership efforts behind the scenes make it possible for C-Suite executives in companies, non-profits, government, education and health care to lead our human experience, and drive social change for a better world. The EA role is an incredibly unique and influential position. I aim to challenge traditional top-down leadership in our companies and demand better understanding that the root of this will start inside of us. This space is for those that aren't ready to settle for good enough.

Most of all, I hope to provide help for the helpers and support for the supporters. It really is true that none of us are as badass as all of us so I'm all in with you! My wish is for you to be the happiest, most successful cat herder around!

I would love for my musings to stir up shared experiences, questions, and different perspectives. I encourage your comments, questions and suggestions so please don't hesitate to reach out!

I'll start! What is your biggest challenge as an EA right now? Reach out at Jaclyn@EmpoweredEA.ca.
